Project Background:

Upon realization of the need for a Sally Port addition onto the Historic St. Louis County Duluth Courthouse, ARI worked closely with facilities and sheriff’s department staff as well as the Duluth Historic Preservation Commission to successfully complete an addition.

The design allows for efficient inmate transport vehicle circulation and secure inmate processing, holding, attorney/client interviewing and convenient access and control of inmates into courtrooms without mixing with general staff and the public.

The facility integrates efficient mechanical, electrical, technological and security systems, and sustainable building initiatives including a green roof system.
