Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing

In August 2013, a ground-breaking ceremony at the spec building was held, which was nothing more than a 30,000-square-foot shell of a building with a dirt floor. The project remodeled an existing structure and added a significant manufacturing addition. The office area consists of 12,280 square feet of office, conference space, lobby, training room, and receiving area. This project aimed to provide office areas that would support the manufacturing plan. This is also the corporate office, so detail to public image was also a significant consideration throughout the design. The design process involved meeting with staff to identify individual needs as well as the working relationship with fellow workers and the plant. A conference/training area was included for weekly staff meetings. The office area has direct access to the shipping and receiving area to coordinate deliveries.
