Cook County Airport Renovation and Addition
ARI collaborated with RS&H to design the renovation and addition for the municipal airport for Cook County, MN. The renovation included reconfiguring the existing layout and replacing all interior & exterior finishes, including flooring, ceilings, casework, siding, windows, and roofing. The outdated mechanical and electrical systems were also replaced to improve the facility's overall energy efficiency. A 600 sq. ft. building addition was designed to include space for a breakroom, conference room and vestibules at both entrances. The exterior design concept was to create a contextual form that remains appropriate for municipal airport architecture.
The interior concept was to create a warm and inviting space that can function as an airport and serve as a comfortable," at-home" environment for those awaiting departure.
