Cloquet High School CTE

Modernized CTE Labs & Art Space

Cloquet Public Schools, ISD #94 had the desire to modernize their vocational programs to include state-of-the-art technologies and more computer-controlled equipment including a Fabrication Lab. The district was successful in the application and receipt of a grant for new equipment. The project included design and engineering services for the renovation of the existing woods and metals shop space along with an old small engines shop that had previously been repurposed for a CCTV Studio and special education.

Additionally, the existing art room was included as part of the renovation. During the preliminary design process, ARI recommended that the district consider the relocation of the art room into the area of the CTE labs in order to share the new computer lab and the CNC, laser and graphics equipment that would have common interest applications for art, woods and metals technologies students. The school principals, woods, metals, and art instructors were all involved in this collaborative design process.
