Brookston Elderly Complex

The development of Brookston Elderly Complex in Brookston, MN aimed to create a comfortable and independent living space for the elderly of Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The complex consists of five residential apartments, a group room, and office space. The building was deliberately designed with an orientation that offers a picturesque view of Stoney Brook Creek from the back patio while ensuring that each unit is filled with natural daylight.

Regarding aesthetics, the modular exterior design was used to create a contemporary look that also offers easy adaptability for future expansion. Inside the apartments, the interior design focused on maximizing space efficiency while creating a welcoming environment for the residents. The use of natural materials was emphasized to create a homely and comfortable living space for the occupants.

From a design perspective, the primary objective was to prioritize the comfort and safety of the senior residents of the building while also promoting their independence.
