Parkview Learning Center
Early Childhood Center Expansion in Virginia, MN
ARI worked with the District to complete a Facility Study and Educational Adequacy Plan for their existing school buildings. The study identified the need for additional Early Learning classrooms. The District moved forward with an eight-classroom addition to their existing elementary site. Funding to expand and remodel Parkview Learning Center resulted from successful legislation during the 2012 session that resulted in $7.7 million of IRRRB Revenue Bonds awarded to the Virginia School District.
The addition of Parkview Elementary included eight (8) early childhood classrooms, an additional gymnasium, a new cafeteria and kitchen, and new school offices, along with a secure entrance. The remodeling of the existing building included new kindergarten classrooms, additional staff toilets, additional Special Education classroom and storage space. The boiler room was relocated, and new boilers were implemented, which were converted from steam to hot water. In addition, a new ventilation system was installed along with a new DOC for the entire building. The building houses Kindergarten through Grade Two, School Readiness, Early Childhood Family Education, and AEOA Headstart.
