The 38,770 sf Washington Elementary Early Childhood Addition reached completion in the fall of 2022. This addition featured 10 innovative classrooms for children aged birth to five years old, a new administrative office suite, conference space, parent observation/sibling rooms, a large commons area, and indoor gym space. Additionally, a kitchenette and concession stand were incorporated into the heart of the building for all to enjoy. The facility initiates an early sense of school spirit through the use of color, logos and language displayed in materials and key features specific to the school and local area throughout.

This state-of-the-art facility merges Hibbing Schools Early Childhood programs and Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) Head Start Program under one roof, allowing for an increase of ECFE offerings and an overall heightened educational experience for the district's youngest learners.
